Popular ZIP FM disk jock ZJ Wah Wa, considers himself a very focused and loyal person who you can never have a dull moment around. Born Deon-Ville O'Ara, Wah Wa had always been a lover of track and field and music. The former St George's College and Calabar High School student, told TEENage that growing up in high school he had always done disk jockeying as a hobby but after leaving high school in 2007, under certain circumstances, he had to take up music to earn a living and it has now become his first love. Wah Wa expressed that music was always in his family, as the famous My Boy Lollipop singer, Millie Small is his grand aunt.
In 2008, Darkcide International offered a space to Wah Wa to join their multi-talented "family". Ever since, Wah Wa has been very busy, with tours established in the Grand Cayman Islands and the United States and aslo played at popular parties such as ATI and Fully Loaded. Being such a busy person, Wah Wa expresses his gratefulness for his management team who helps to keep him organised.
As one who is venturing into the artiste aspect of entertainment, he has done songs such as Come My Way with Chevaughn and hopes to do collaborations with Aidonia, Tony Matterhorn and ZJ Liquid. When not working, Wah Wa likes to chill with friends, watch movies online or simply give back, which he has done by participating in a few charities. On the topic of charities, Wah Wa plans to provide financial help to his community, 'Spoilers' in Waterford, St Catheirne so they can refurbish the schools and more.
His advice to all budding entertainers is that they must stay focus and go for what they want. "Be God-fearing even if you don't believe in God and keep it positive", he went on to say. As one who receives many negative feedbacks, his focus is to press on and be the best that he can be.
