GT Taylor does it for the homeless


This year's staging of the Jagra GT Taylor Christmas Reggae Extravaganza, will see part proceeds going to charity — The St Elizabeth Care Committee.

The Christmas day event will see appearances from all the top names in Reggae and Dancehall music taking to the stage at Independence Park in Black River St Elizabeth.

The line-up includes Beeni Man, Bounty Killer, Mavado, Baby Cham, Gyptian, Lady Saw, Romain Virgo, Khago and I-Octane.

Speaking at the recent launch of the popular stage show, promoter, GT Taylor, noted that this year's show will be all about unity and togetherness. "We will be all about caring and sharing through music, as while patrons will be enjoying the performances, they will also be assisting the less fortunate in St Elizabeth," he noted.

The St Elizabeth Care Committee was founded in 2004 and provides support for the street people in Black River and Junction, with Santa Cruz set to come on stream shortly.

Also speaking at the launch, Mental health nurse practitioner for St Elizabeth, Karen Elliot noted that the annual GT Taylor Christmas Extravaganza continues to make a susbstantial contribution to the committee, through donations of food and clothing, as well as a financial contribution.
