Serani's career continues on an upward path as his dance-floor smash Skip to My Luu, featuring Ding Dong and Razz and Biggy, has been added to daytime rotation on America's HOT 97 radio station based in New York.
In a release sent to THE STAR, Serani said, "it really is all about hard work. I've been putting in the groundwork over the last two years, constantly being out there on the road. We've been working 'Skip' for a while at radio and now its paying off. HOT 97 always shows reggae and dancehall a lot of love and kudos to them for introducing dancehall records to the mainstream."
Skip to My Luu is a fun track based off the dance of the same name that was #1 in Jamaica earlier this year and still a staple at dances across the globe. It crossed into American clubs over the last couple of months and was then picked up by US radio. Skip to My Luu was produced by production trio DASECA.
Fresh from a show-stealing performance at Howard University's Homecoming last weekend, Serani said his management team was strategising as to which stations next it would be targeting.
"It looks good so far," he said. "Crossover stations in New York, Connecticut, Philly, Boston and Miami are all showing the record some love, so we are looking to take it to the next level and get the record added in those markets next. I've got a lot of promotional appearances coming up to support the 'Skip' movement."
His non-stop promotional mission continues this weekend with appearances at Syracuse University and a show in Atlanta.
Serani's debut album No Games, featuring new tracks, will get a worldwide release on November 22.
Skip to My Luu was released on the Phase One-Rockstone imprint and is available on iTunes.
