Chevelle Franklyn performs in Africa

Chevelle Franklyn

Former dancehall artiste, now gospel minister, Chevelle Franklyn, has jetted off on her annual trip to Lagos, Nigeria, to perform at one of the largest gospel concerts in the world with an expected crowd of over 500,000 people. This would be Franklyn's third consecutive year at this grand event dubbed 'The Experience'.

The Experience has become known as the largest musical concert in Africa. Uniquely, the event starts at 7 p.m. and goes until 6 a.m. the following morning, a colossal 11 hours of uninterrupted prayer and live music.

Franklyn will also be ministering in Calabar, the Cross River State of Nigeria and again in Lagos at the 'Holy Ghost Prayer Night' hosted by Pastor Enoch A. Adeboye.

Franklyn holds a special love for Africa, and she likens it to 'The Pleasant Land' and enjoys the diversity of the culture, the gifts and talents of the people, and their intense passion and love for God.

May 2010 saw Franklyn in South Africa for an annual conference and September saw her ministering at a women's conference in Nairobi, Kenya, so she considers Africa her second home.

Franklyn also recently performed in the United Kingdom at the Winning Women's Conference and states: "I am looking forward to 2011 with great expectation as God continues to open great and effective doors globally to include Australia, Zimbabwe and India."
